The works of Turlough O'Carolan survive only as single line melodies. Interpretations of those melodies are as rich and varied as the artists who interpret them. It was suggested I put up single line melodies as well as full arrangements, which gives musicians an opportunity to hear the original work (thank you George Speller, for the idea!).
The link under the information column will lead you to further information regarding the tune. Any tunes marked with a (g) will have a link to a graphic of the music. Most of the GIF files on this site were from TuneBook Live!
The links under the Music File column are directly to the mp3 files. Those marked with (m) are single line melody only, all others are full arrangements. The sequencer of the arrangement is noted in the column. If you use any of these files on a web page, you must credit the arranger.
At the The Contemplator's Folk Music and Carolan Resource Center you can find songbooks and traditional and Carolan albums. I think EVERYONE should have at least one copy of
Celtic Treasure. It is an incredible collection of Carolan music by various artists.
If you wish to use any of these tunes on your web site please read this.
You must credit the person who created the midi (the arranger).
